Myrtle Carlson, age 92, Sauk Rapids, MN, died Sunday, November 12, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Upsala, MN. Rev. Trish Jorgenson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Gethsemane Lutheran Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Myrtle Carlson was born June 24, 1914 in Montevideo, MN to Nels Axel and Adelia (Bylund) Swenson. She married Martin R. Carlson on July 3, 1932 in Herman, MN. They moved to St. Cloud in 1950, Upsala in 1990 and Sauk Rapids in July 2000. Myrtle had been employed by Herbergers and Fandels Department stores. She was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Upsala.
Survivors include a daughter, Carole (John) Parker of White Bear Lake, MN; sister, June Pehrson of Elk River, MN; one granddaughter, Karin Kelley and five great grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Kelley, and Mikayla, Briana and Jesse Stadler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin on January 11, 2001; brother, Harold Swenson and sister, Gladys Erickson.
Memorials are preferred.
