Marie Bowman, age 86, died Tuesday, October 31 at St. Benedict Care Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and beloved husband, Bill. She leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kay Bowman of Brainerd, MN and a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Nass of St. Cloud, MN. She also leaves behind her most treasured grandchildren, Michael Nass, and Kristin and Randy Kepner. As one life leaves this world another life begins - her newest love, Brennan Lee Kepner, six months old, brought her great joy.
Marie was born Marie Elizabeth Jackson on July 26, 1920 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Amelia (Herman) and Milton Jackson. She was a member of St. Mary’s church and attended St. Mary’s School. She married William Charles Bowman on April 20, 1941 and they raised their two children in Marshalltown.
Marie and Bill moved to Brainerd, Minnesota when Bill became ill. He died August 17, 1997, and Marie continued to live in Brainerd until her health forced her to move to St. Benedict Care Center in St. Cloud. Marie died there on October 31.
The family would like to thank all the staff and residents of St. Benedict Care Center and Heartland Hospice for their friendship and wonderful care.
A funeral mass will be said on Saturday, November 4 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown, IA. There will be visitation at the Estel Perrin Funeral Home in Marshalltown, IA from 5:30 - 7:30 PM on Friday, November 3 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown, IA.
