    Harley Edward Brophy, age 77, died Monday, March 8, 2004 at his home in Waite Park, MN.
     Funeral services will be Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 2004 from 4 to 7 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
     Harley Brophy was born April 6, 1926 in Blackduck, MN to James and Molly Brophy. He grew up in Blackduck, MN. He married Darlene D. Miller on May 5, 1944 in Breckenridge, MN. Harley was employed by Great Northern Railroad and then Burlington Northern Railroad for 40 years. He resided first in Breckenridge, MN, then was transferred to Dilworth, MN in 1962 and transferred again in 1968 to St. Cloud, MN. Harley retired in 1983. His wife, Darlene died July 15, 1991. He married Lucille “Lu” Tasky on October 17, 1994 and they resided together in Waite Park, MN.
     Harley was a skilled craftsman and he always had an ongoing project. He loved working in his yard and helping his children on their projects. Harley loved the outdoors, especially returning to Blackduck for hunting season with his family. His family will fondly remember being awakened to the phrase “Daylight in the Swamp”. Harley attended many meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and looked forward to the Bible based hope of being resurrected to a paradise earth. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
     Survivors include his wife, Lucille Brophy, of Waite Park, MN; son, Robert (Karen) Brophy of Sauk Centre, MN; two daughters, Marlys (Gary) Mills of Lewiston, MN; Linda Cook of Kimball, MN; brothers and sisters, Ralph Brophy of Fayetteville, AK; Richard Brophy of Blackduck, MN; Rosella Fefercorn of Golden Valley, MN; Roberta Martinson of Cloquet, MN; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
     Harley was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Darlene and brother, Russell Brophy; and son-in-law, Stephen Cook
