Kellie Jeanne Schumacher, August 20, 1962- April 4, 2025, St.
Augusta, MN. It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the unexpected
passing of Kellie Jeanne Schumacher on April 4, 2025, in St. Cloud, MN. Kellie
was born the youngest of five children to Howard (Mac) McCall and Lois McCall
in Tacoma, WA on August 20, 1962. She attended Lincoln High School and went on
to obtain her degree in social and human services at Tacoma Community College.
She worked for the Pt. Defiance Zoo Society for many years and most recently
for Lutheran Community Services NW. She lived in Tacoma until June of 2023 when she packed up a
U-Haul and headed east to St. Augusta, MN to be with her daughter, Courtney and
welcome her grandson, Jackson David Gerads. Kellie was fortunate to spend
almost every day of his first year caring for Jackson while mom went back to
work. They formed a strong and loving bond. Kellie was so loving, making sure everyone was taken care of.
Always laughing and smiling and trying to find the best in life. Kellie was
very creative. She loved crafting, creating pottery pieces, growing a vegetable
garden, and caring for her many beloved house plants. She was the caretaker of
many family keepsakes. Kellie is survived by her husband E. Allyn Schumacher,
daughter Courtney Gerads (Justin), and her grandson, Jackson Gerads of St.
Cloud, MN, her sisters, Sherryl Martinez of Tacoma, WA, and Pamela Hart-Newman
(James) of Gig Harbor, WA, her brother Scott McCall of Udon Thani, Thailand,
and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was very much
loved and will be greatly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard (Mac) McCall
and Lois McCall, her brother, Kim McCall, and Grandmother, Jeannette (Stevens)
Scott. Kellie will be remembered for so many things: her smile and
laugh; her willingness to help others, her unyielding love for her daughter, Courtney
and grandson Jackson, and her family. May her memory bring comfort and
happiness to all that were fortunate enough to have known and loved her. In lieu of flowers, please plant some of your own, or make a
donation to the Tri-County Humane Society. A Celebration of
Life to be held at Mountain View Memorial Park in Tacoma, Washington, Thursday,
May 15th at 2pm in the Aspen Chapel. A reception will follow.
