David W. Olson, age 52, St. Cloud, MN died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Shores of Leech Lake in Walker, MN.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Allan Bjorklund will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2006 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
David Olson was born November 13, 1953 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to Robert and Marilyn (Bjork) Olson. David then moved with his family to Willmar where he attended school and graduated with the Willmar High School Class of 1972. He was part of the wrestling team during his junior and senior high school years and wrestled with the team at the state level his senior year. David then continued his education at St. Cloud State University and Winona State University graduating in 1980 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. He married Bette J. Franz on August 9, 1975 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. David worked at the St. Cloud Veteran’s Hospital as a nurse from 1980 until his retirement in 2005. David enjoyed history and science fiction, and loved hunting and sailing, but his passion in life was his family.
Survivors include his wife, Bette Olson of St. Cloud, MN; Aaron Olson of St. Cloud, MN, Josie (Dan) Muyres of St. Joseph, MN, Joshua Olson of St. Cloud, MN; brother, Todd (Marianne) Olson of Vadnais Heights, MN; sisters, Gwen Olson of Glenwood, MN, Paula (Steve) Lang of Kandiyohi, MN; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Edna Bragstad of Garretson, SD; aunts; uncles; in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marilyn Olson; uncles, Chet and Orville; nephew, Cassius; and special family friend, Craig. |
