Ronald Edwin Kaczor died at home, May 9, 2006 surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the St. Cloud Technical High School gymnasium. Rev. Carl Larson will officiate. A private visitation will be held for the family. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Ron was born March 25, 1958 in Bigfork, MN to Edwin and Amber (Sitz) Kaczor. As a child, he enjoyed playing sports, hunting and fishing. A standout athlete at Bigfork High School, Ron graduated in 1976 and took his football talents to St. Cloud State University, becoming the first member of his family to attend college. On June 9, 1979, Ron married his longtime sweetheart Ruth Gabriel in Bigfork. He graduated from St. Cloud State University and began a teaching career that eventually brought him to a sixth grade classroom at Oak Hill Elementary. In addition to teaching, Ron provided leadership as a football, basketball and track coach. From 1996 to 2006, he served as head football coach for St. Cloud Technical High School. Ron and his family are members of Hope Covenant Church in St. Cloud.
Ron thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. Without a doubt, Ron’s 10 children were his greatest source of pride. He loved teaching them the lessons passed down to him by his parents, and then watching them find success. Ron relished the opportunity to mentor young people, and worked hard to build “Championship People”. Committed to building strong and lasting friendships, he nurtured those relationships by showing respect to those around him. He will be forever remembered for his integrity and character, his commitment to faith and family, and for the way he respected the gift of life by living every day to the best of his ability.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Kaczor of St. Cloud, MN; children, Andrew (Natalie) Kaczor of Buffalo, MN; Daniel, David, Meredith, Mark, Paul, Thomas, James, Rachael and John Kaczor all of St. Cloud, MN; mother, Amber Kaczor of Bigfork, MN; brothers, Tony (Debbie) Kaczor of Grand Rapids, MN; Mike Kaczor of Albuquerque, NM; Larry (Carolyn) Kaczor of Grand Rapids, MN; Jerry (Jody Anderson) Kaczor of Talmoon, MN; and sister, Kristy (Paul) Gustafson of Bigfork, MN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Kaczor, on September 27, 2004.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Ron Kaczor Memorial Scholarship Fund at St. Cloud Technical High School.
