Cyrus D. Swenson

Cyrus Dwight Swenson, age 88, Sartell, MN, died Friday, December 13, 2024 at Country Manor Senior Community, Sartell, MN.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at The Waters Church (1227 Pine Cone Rd Sartell, MN 56377). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in West Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hancock, MN.             Cyrus was born April 25, 1936 in Benson, MN to Bert C. and Olga A. (Ronholt) Swenson. He married Margaret E. Aslakson on May 11, 1957 at West Zion Lutheran Church, Hancock, MN. After initially working as a farmer, Cyrus and Margaret moved to East Grand Forks where Cyrus worked for the railroad for a year. After that, they moved to the Twin Cities, eventually settled in Crystal, MN. Cyrus then made his career as a brick layer in the construction industry. Cyrus and Margaret moved to Sartell, MN in 2000, where they built a new home. He was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN. Cyrus enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, golfing, reading and playing cards. Cyrus was a hard worker. He was a family guy and was always willing to help others. He was strong in conviction to what he believed in, was always faithful and always did the right thing. He will be missed for the little things, like how long it took him to open a present and how much he enjoyed a grilled ribeye steak. He will also be missed for the big things, like how great of a Dad and Grandpa he was.
