Gerard Lee Platz, age 43, Sauk Centre, MN died Sunday, April 16, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, Sauk Centre, MN. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Sauk Centre, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Gerard Platz was born July 26, 1962 in Springfield, MN to Gilbert L. and Helen T. (Hirsch) Platz. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1980 and Ridgewater Community College in 1982. Gerard farmed in the Springfield area until 1998, when he started his own carpentry and home repair business. He lived in Litchfield and then Sauk Centre. On August 17, 2001 Gerard married Linda Ceynar Watson at the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre, MN. Gerard enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, helping other farmers and other outdoor recreation. He also enjoyed spending time with family, especially his granddaughter, nephews and niece.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Platz of Sauk Centre, MN; step daughter, Laura Watson of Sauk Centre, MN; step granddaughter, Lily Watson; mother, Helen Platz of Waskish, MN; brother, Steve (Julie) Platz of Corcoran, MN; nephews, Russell and Alexander Platz; niece, Courtney Platz; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Platz in 2004. |
