Clement “Clem” L. Claseman, age 97, St. Cloud, MN, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Welsh Place, Sauk Rapids, MN.
A Mass celebrating the life of Clem Claseman will be held Friday, April 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. The Rev. Luke Steiner will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2006 from 4 to 8 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery, DeGraff, MN.
Clem Claseman was born August 5, 1908 in Underwood, ND to Henry and Louise (Langenhorst) Claseman. He married Catherine “Kay” Noonan on June 14, 1941 in Spooner, WI. Clem served in the United States Army during World War II. He taught school in DeGraff, Rockville, and St. Michael-Albertville, MN and then worked for the Minnesota State Highway Patrol for 27 years, retiring in 1969. He worked for St. Cloud Metro Transit for 20 years. Clem was a member of St. Cloud Eastside American Legion Post #76; Minnesota Peace and Police Officers Association; and St. Augustine Catholic Church where he was a choir member for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Claseman, of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughters, Bob (Penny) Claseman of St. Cloud, MN; Don (Barb) Claseman of Duluth, MN; Kathleen (Al) Bialke of Eagan, MN; Pat (Jim) Rudy of Eveleth, MN; Connie Claseman and Mark Puhl of St. Cloud, MN; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Katie Bialke, one great grandson, Ethan Kestner, and one sister, Lucy Susee.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Clem’s caregivers, Mary Ann, Tom, Kim, Bonnie, Dorothy and the Centra Care nurses and home care staff.
Memorials are preferred.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, J. D., Rob, Randy, Ryan, Michael, Shane, Kristina, Shannon and Bobby. |
