     Donald A. Christen, age 79, of Sartell, died Friday, July 14, 2023 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
     Funeral services for Donald A. Christen will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the MN State Veteran’s Cemetery, Little Falls with full military honors. Arrangements are with Benson Funeral Home.
     Donald A. Christen was born on August 7, 1943 in Albany, MN to Rueben and Elizabeth (Monn) Christen. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Donald was married to Gloria Kile in May of 1971 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee, WI. He worked at Electrolux for many years and also as a custodian at Midtown Square. Donald enjoyed watching Twins, Vikings, horse racing, bull riding (which he even did a few times), playing bingo, going on casino trips and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
     Survivors include his children, Ann (Todd) Meemken of St. Cloud, MN; Joel Christen of St. Cloud, MN; Kevin (Amy) Christen of Tooele, UT; and Lana (Joe) Doll of Holdingford, MN; seven grandchildren, Terrance, Jarad and Kyle Meemken, Lilly and Haddie Christen, and Abby and Paige Doll, and great-granddaughter, Remira Andrescik; siblings, Dave (Toni) Christen of Detroit Lakes and Joyce Gilsrud of St. Rosa.
     He is preceded in death by his parents, Rueben and Elizabeth Christen; brother, Mark Christen; infant sister, Louise Christen; and step-fathers, Roman Mager and Ted Silvers.
     In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
