Elizabeth Julia Schwichtenberg, age 92, Sauk Rapids, died Monday, February 13, 2006 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel, Sauk Rapids, MN. Rev. Don Wilke will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15, 2006 from 4 to 7 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the Good Shepherd Chapel on Thursday. A prayer service will be at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sauk Rapids, MN.
Elizabeth Schwichtenberg was born July 11, 1913 in Sauk Rapids, MN to Fred W. and Augusta (Bukowski) Wippich. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids, and on November 2, 1937, Elizabeth married Arthur L. Schwichtenberg at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Elizabeth was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Sauk Rapids and a former member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, St. Cloud. She was a very spiritual person. Among her many interests were, crocheting, crafts, needlework, painting, baking, cooking and leather work. She also enjoyed talking to and meeting people. In her younger years, Elizabeth liked to fish and spend time at the lake.
Survivors include sons, Dwight (Sue) Schwichtenberg of Waite Park, MN; and Donald Schwichtenberg of Rice, MN; six grandchildren, Larry, Robert, Donna, Julie, Kurt, and Kimberly; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur, on May 18, 1972, and eleven brothers and sisters.
Memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. |
