     Sherman R. Roser, age 84, of Waite Park died on Friday, January 13, 2023 at CentraCare – Benedict Homes.
     A Memorial Service Celebrating Sherm’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 30th at Tri County Alliance Church, 8464 160th St. NW, Clearwater. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in the North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
     Sherman R. Roser was born July 22, 1938, to Foster Sr. and Helen (Sherman) Roser in Flint, MI. He graduated from Germantown Friends School (Philadelphia, PA) and from Ursinus College (Collegeville, PA). Sherm also earned an MBA degree from Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA) and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska (Lincoln, NE).
     On August 17, 1962, Sherman married Victoria E. Hoffmann in Media, PA. In his earlier years of professional employment, he worked in accounting for a variety of small and large firms. In 1976 he made a mid-career switch by earning his Ph.D. and then entering the field of teaching. He worked as a professor of accounting at St. Cloud State University for 19 years before retiring in 1998.
     His retirement years were spent volunteering in a number of activities that included serving in a number of leadership positions in his church as an elder and as a teacher of Scripture, playing musical keyboard at church and various eldercare facilities, caring as a Stephen Minister at St. Cloud Hospital, and mentoring younger men. In his later years, Sherm focused on deepening his personal walk with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For many years, Sherm and Vicky also enjoyed nature in the great outdoors when hiking and canoeing especially around Ely, Minnesota.
     Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Campion of Clear Lake, WI; and grandchildren, Rhianna and Andrew also of Clear Lake, WI, brother-in-law Walter Hoffmann Jr. and several nieces
     Sherm was preceded in death by his birth parents; adoptive mother, Marie Roser; wife, Vicky; son, Drew; brother and sister-in-law, Foster Jr. & Elizabeth; and father–in-law, Walter O. and Helen Hoffmann.
     In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Tri County Alliance Church or Grey Face Rescue & Retirement, St. Cloud, MN.
