On Saturday, October 15, Launa L. Emig, a beloved mother and friend, passed away at the age of 52.
Launa is survived by her four children, Aprill, Tonya, Jared, and Jordan. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 6th from 9:30am to 12:30pm at Riverwind Community Center in Coon Rapids, MN. This will be an informal ceremony to get together and share our favorite memories of Launa.
Though Launa worked various jobs throughout her life, her primary focus was on her children. After her mother’s sudden death, Launa adopted her younger brother in order to give him a safe, loving, and stable environment in which to grow. This selflessness extended beyond her family. Launa was always ready to lend an ear and a hug for anyone who needed it and could always see the good in anyone she met.
Launa’s greatest joy in life was seeing her children happy. She would often get so excited about hearing from her children that she’d be brought to tears, whether it was meeting her child’s new significant other, getting a surprise visit, or even just a quick phone call to say “hi.” An avid horror fan, Launa and her children have many fond memories of watching the classics or the newest release of her favorite show.
