     Karen Linette Nelson, age 80, St. Cloud, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Memory Cottages.
    
    
     A Celebration of Karen's life will be from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements are with Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
    
     Karen was born on November 9, 1941 in Forest City, MN to John and Cecile (Pancake) Arens. Karen married the love of her life, Truman Errol Nelson, on December 26, 1959 in Watkins, Minnesota. Karen was dearly loved by her family and friends.
    
     Karen is survived by her children, Terry (Caryn) Nelson, Tammy (Richard) Novak, Tracanne (Randy) Legatt, and Thomas Nelson, grandchildren, Ryan (Beth) Murphy, Kara (Ryan Olson) Murphy, Charlie Nelson, Kassee Nelson, Abby (Jordan) Carriveau, Andrew (Kelsey) Legatt, and great-grandchildren, Ashton, Lily, Lydia, Torin, Olivia, Avyana, Carter, Brayden, Bentley, Bryson, Devon, Jaxson, Sawyer, Axel and Otto; sister, Beverly Rettig of Eden Valley, brother in law Ricky Brock, and son in law Jeff Murphy, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.
    
    
     Karen was preceded in death by her parents; Husband Truman; brothers Lavern Arens, Leslie Arens and John Arens, and sister in law Karen Brock.
    
     Karen’s family wants to thank all of the staff at Good Shepherd Memory Cottage as well as Moments Hospice for the love and care they had for our Mother, who also became her family.
