     Nancy D. Gerth, age 65, St. Cloud, MN died Wednesday, February 8, 2006, along with her husband, Steven R. Gerth, near Columbia, SC from injuries received in an automobile accident.
     A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 3:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Marvin Kuhlman will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2006 from 3 to 8 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
     Nancy Gerth was born January 5, 1941 in Elysian, MN to Kenneth and Dorothy (Tiede) Verschoor. Nancy met Steven Gerth in 1960 when he was a student at Mankato State and she was a nursing student. They were married on September 22, 1962 in Mankato, MN. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mankato, MN with a degree in nursing. Nancy later returned to school and graduated from St. Cloud State University with a BA degree in social work. She was employed as a social worker for Morrison County and was also a supporter and volunteer for the Breast Center. Her hobbies and passions included bridge group, book club, Red Hat group, St. Cloud Heritage Quilters, and gardening.
     Nancy and Steven enjoyed traveling, bike trips, elder hostels, music, fine food, art and books. They were also very involved in the lives of their grandchildren.
     Survivors include her daughters, Andrea (David) Essar of Winona, MN; Jennifer (William Eddins) Gerth of Minneapolis, MN; brother, David Verschoor of Waterville, MN; four grandchildren, Mitchell and Hannah Essar and Raef and Riley Eddins.
     She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Ted Foss.
     Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
