Lee L. Kohs, age 91, Oro Valley, AZ, formerly of St. Cloud, MN, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his home in Oro Valley, AZ.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
Lee was born October 21, 1930 in Little Falls, MN to William and Eva (Lemieur) Kohs. He married Betty J. Ringwelski on August 28, 1954 in Little Falls, MN. Lee taught for the St. Cloud School District 742 for over 30 years. After his retirement from the school district Lee went on to supervise student teachers at St. John’s University and the College of St. Benedict. Lee was named Minnesota Teacher of the Year in 1970. Lee and his wife, Betty, owned and operated Cavalier Formal Fashions in St. Cloud, MN. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Tucson, AZ.
Survivors include his son, Gordy Kohs of Roseville, MN; daughters Carol Kohs of Oro Valley, AZ and Cindy Kohs of Oro Valley, AZ; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, on November 24, 2017, son Charles on October 24, 2002, and grandson Christopher Kohs.
