    April 27, 1950 – February 17, 2021
    
     Theodore “Ted” J. Becker, age 70, Cold Spring, MN died Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
     A celebration of Ted’s life will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Cold Spring Alano Club.
     Ted was born April 27, 1950 in Richmond, MN to Leo N. and Clara “Cora” (Torborg) Becker. He married Ione Poepping on April 21, 2001 in Cold Spring, MN. Ted was a veteran of the US Navy. He continued his family’s Shoe Repair business for a few years in Richmond and later in Litchfield. He also worked in construction for many years. Ted loved camping and spending time with his family. He loved to cook and enjoyed learning as much as he could about history, science, politics and nature. He was a master of conversationalist, loved telling stories and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a mentor to many and always was willing to lend an ear.
     Survivors include his wife, Ione Becker of Cold Spring, MN; children, Dana (Julia) Becker of Minneapolis, MN; Nathan (Kelly) Becker of Minneapolis, MN; Benjamin (Heide) Counter of Sartell, MN; Adam Diskerud of Sauk Rapids, MN; Nikki (Jesse) Vogt of St. Cloud, MN; Jessi (Adam) Goerger of Rice, MN; 15 grandchildren, Caleb, Byron, Brad, Avery, Danni, Hunter, Destiny, Dominic, Aubree, Weston, Hunter, Brooklyn, Gage, Nolan and Adley; 1 great granddaughter, Alyanna.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Mary.
     Ted’s family would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful staff at CentraCare Kidney Center and the Coborn Cancer Center for the loving care that they provided Ted.
