Ellen Margaret Estevez, aged 58, passed away on Sunday, December 27, at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 A.M on Thursday, January 7 at St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville with a visitation for family beginning at 9:00; friends are welcome starting at 9:30. Social distancing protocols will be observed.
Ellen was born in Alexandria, MN to James and Marion (Lindemeyer) Patrick on December 18, 1962. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1981 and later attended the Model College of Hair Design, where she met Joseph Estevez, whom she married on September 22, 1984 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alex, MN. Ellen worked as a cosmetologist and later stayed home to raise her three children. In 2005, she began working for Judy Walker-Horace Mann Insurance, where she was a highly respected licensed producer and customer service specialist. Thanks to her hard work, the agency won several accolades and customers became life-long clients and friends. As she saw it, however, her greatest accomplishment was her children.
She was a woman of great faith in God, especially throughout her battle with cancer. She also enjoyed live music and stand-up comedy, spending time with friends and family outdoors at home and on the Horseshoe Chain of Lakes, as well as travelling. She adored her children’s pets and loved to see and play with them. She was a gifted interior decorator and kept a beautiful, happy home.
Ellen is survived by her children, BreAnna of Waite Park, Ashley (David) Hair of Golden Valley, and Andre of St. Paul; her father, Jim Patrick, of Alexandria; brothers, Matthew and Mitch; sisters Nancy and Julie; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion; sister, Shelly; and her beloved nephew, Blake.
Special thanks to Dr. Jurgens and the staff at Coborn Cancer Center, as well as Matt and Nancy, and Susan Frank, all of whom helped fill Ellen’s last few months with joy and great peace.
