Jack Lee Peura, age 72, Longville, MN, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in Sartell, MN.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Jack was born May 11, 1948 in Askov, MN to Einer M. and Evelyn A. (Eccles) Peura. He graduated from Finlayson School. After high school Jack joined the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He married Cynthia Hoiland on August 22, 1971 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Finlayson, MN. When Jack was discharged from the Army, he went to work for DEVAC, then Cardinal Glass until 2003, and most recently for Walter G. Anderson retiring in 2014. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, attending outdoor concerts, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Brian Peura of Monticello, MN and Chad Peura of Buffalo, MN; daughter, Marie (Jason) Emerson of St. Cloud, MN; sisters, Cheryl Peura of Minneapolis, MN and Patricia (Michael) Ebberle of Maple Grove, MN; brother, Leslie (Eve) Peura of Finlayson, MN; nine grandchildren, Britany, Brandon, Austin, Devin, Abby, Paige, Emma, Bella and Logan; and three great grandchildren, Brianna, Grayson and Maevyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cynthia Peura, on August 9, 2014, and stepbrother James Loberg. |
