Mary T. Johnson, age 86, Clearwater, MN, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Talahi Care Center, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church, St. Augusta, MN. Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Fairhaven Township, Minnesota.
Mary Johnson was born September 14, 1919 in New York, New York to Juan and Elena (Cruz) Barral. She married Adrian D. Johnson on February 1, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York. Mary was fluent in two Spanish dialects. She worked as a bilingual legal secretary for a law firm in New York prior to moving to Minnesota. She then farmed with her husband until their retirement.
Mary lived her life as a compassionate, loving person. She spent endless hours caring for children and was known as “Grandma”, to many. Her humility and willingness to help have been an example to all who knew her.
Survivors include son, John (Shirley) Johnson of Clearwater, MN; daughters, Patricia Bushaw of Clearwater, MN; Helen (Kent) Kosobayshi of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Leonard, April Johnson, Rebecca (Andrew Gottsfield) Johnson, Katie Bushaw, Adrian Bushaw; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Leonard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adrian, on August 20, 1986; great-grandson, John Leonard; 2 sisters, Helen Barral, and Anne Castro; 5 brothers, Andrew, Anthony, Frank, Edward, and Charlie Barral; and 1 infant brother. |
