    Milo E. Madson, age 88, St. Cloud, MN and formerly of Albert Lea, MN died Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Talahi Care Center, St. Cloud, MN.
     Memorial service will be Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Albert Lea, MN with Military honors provided by VFW & American Legion Posts of Albert Lea, MN. Arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. and Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, MN.
     Milo was born July 13, 1917 in Albert Lea, MN to Elmer N. & Maren J. (Swenson) Madson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1935. He joined the US Navy in 1935 and honorably discharged in 1939. He married Doris M. Bigelow on October 12, 1941 at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, MN. He was drafted in 1943 and served in the US Coast Guard. In 1944 he completed gunnery school and was honorably discharged in 1945. Milo was employed by Wilson’s Meat Packing Plant in Albert Lea until his retirement in January 1979. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, MN and the Freemond Madson VFW Post 447 in Albert Lea. The post was named for Milo’s uncle who died in W.W.I. Milo enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, golf and cards. He was also an avid reader. Milo was an usher at First Lutheran Church, and served on the Messenger mailing group.
     Survivors include his wife, Doris M. Madson of St. Cloud, MN; son, Paul R. Madson of Robbinsdale, MN; daughter, Jean E. (Donald) Leiran of St. Cloud, MN; sister, Anabelle Hansen of Robbinsdale, MN; brothers-in-law, James T. (Doris) Bigelow of Austin, MN; Clare (Elise) Bigelow of Tillamook, OR; sister-in-law, Elda Bigelow of Bismark, ND; 4 grandchildren, Barry (Melissa) Jensen, Alec Madson, Kevin (Leslie) Madson, Jon Madson; 2 great grandchildren, Ashton Madson, Gina Jensen; 8 nieces and 1 nephew.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, daughter-in-law, Karen Madson, brother, Floyd Madson, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Eunice Madson, William and Eleanor Bigelow, Warren Bigelow and Donald Hansen.
     Memorials are preferred.
