    Stanley “Stan” J. Theisen, 60
    Avon, MN
    September 18, 1959 – July 4, 2020

Stanley “Stan” Joseph Theisen, age 60, Avon, MN died peacefully after a long illness on Saturday, July 4, 2020.
Stan was born September 18, 1959 in St. Cloud, MN to Albert J. and Evelyn M. (Notsch) Theisen. Schooling after high school included two years of Construction/Drafting/Estimating at St. Cloud Vocational & Technical, and then obtaining a Class A Commercial Driving License. He explored different lines of employment, including tuckpointing, working for Cold Spring Granite, Stone Container, AAA Courier Service, and a construction company. He eventually settled into working for the City of St. Cloud for seven years during which he was Union Steward for a year; when his back gave out it put him on disability.
As a child, he loved life on the family farm, going to the hayloft often to visit the batches of kittens born there. He was creative and loved to build things with the materials at hand around the farm.
He always liked science and working on scientific experiments and projects and loved to fix things.
Stan loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting and the shooting sports. He participated in competition tactical shooting, along with Anne, for which he hand-loaded ammunition that never failed! He also completed in “cowboy” rifle and pistol matches. He was generous with his knowledge, teaching others how to handle the outdoors and how to be patient when hunting. He was very talented musically, and doing leatherwork was another of his hobbies.
One of his favorite possessions was a sweet-looking (when he bought it) red Ford pickup. He drove it, and drove it, and then drove it some more, way past the time other people would have probably taken it to metal recycling! Maybe he had a hard time saying “Goodbye” to this old friend of his.
He was a member of the Eagles Arie 622, St. Cloud.
Survivors include long-time dear friend and partner, Anne M. Orth of Becker, MN; siblings, Jean Pesek of Waite Park, MN; Doris Theisen-Salzl of Waite Park, MN; Mark (Susan) Theisen of St. Cloud, MN; Marge Schreifels of St. Cloud, MN; and Tom (Shelley) Theisen of Buckman, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law, Eugene Pesek, Hal Salzl and Cy Schreifels.
A Memorial service is set for Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with prayers at 6:45 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. Western attire welcome!
