     Shannon Marie (Duban) Murphy, age 41, Sioux Falls, SD, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020 in St. Cloud, MN at the home of her grandparents, Jerry and Lois Murphy.
     Due to the COVID 19 pandemic private graveside services were held at New Ulm City Cemetery, New Ulm, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Shannon was born February 25, 1979 in New Prague, MN. Shannon graduated from Montgomery Lonsdale High School. She was active in band and in many community music band functions. Shannon was an EMT on the Montgomery Ambulance. She served as a volunteer police officer on the Montgomery Police Department as well as the New Prague Police Department. Shannon was a volunteer sheriff in the Shakopee Minnesota Department and a volunteer fireman with the Crook Fire Department in Sioux Falls, SD
     Shannon relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she last resided. Her time there was spent excelling in smiles and communications. Her friendliness and smile are what made her excel in the sales department with an RV company. You were never a stranger long when Shannon was around
     Shannon was a great supporter of animals and saved many unwanted animals as well as her cockatoo, Merlin, who had been greatly abused. Everyone who knew Shannon would also know her little spoiled dachshund “Cecelia”. Her first pet was D.O.G. who was a small dog mix.
     Shannon is survived by her mother, Tammy Murphy of Sioux Falls, SD; father, Allen Duban of Prior Lake, MN; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Lois Murphy of St. Cloud, MN; and Howard and Christine Wilfahrt of Mesquite, NV; paternal grandparents, Fritz and LaVerne Duban of Lonsdale, MN; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
