     Peggy Jo Carlson, age 70, St. Cloud, MN, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at Edgewood Assisted Living, Sartell, MN.
     Funeral Services will be Friday, April 6, 2018 at 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud MN. Visitation will be Friday, April 6, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
     Peggy was born September 20, 1947 in St. Cloud, MN to Irwin W. and Shirley M. (Kollman) Carlson. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1965 and St. Cloud Vocational Technical College Nursing Program. Peggy was employed by the St. Cloud Hospital for over 35 years. After leaving the St. Cloud Hospital she was employed for a few years by Dr. Jeffrey Kearney at St. Cloud Neurobehavioral Associates. Peggy was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time with family and friends at the lake cabin, volunteering for Minnesota DNR firearms safety training, hunting and fishing. Peggy was also a race fan at Golden Spike Speedway and known for Peg’s Prints and calligraphy.
     Peggy spent her life in service to others as a mother, sister, aunt, nurse, and a friend to many. Peggy was known for kindness, generosity and her personality lit up the room.
     Survivors include her son Peter (Carlyn Becker) Carlson of Pillager, MN; brother Bryan “Doc” (Beth) Carlson of St. Cloud, MN; nephew Matt (Emily) Carlson; and niece Katie Carlson.
     She was preceded in death by her parents.
     Memorials are preferred to the CentraCare Health Foundation Dialysis Special Needs or Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota.
