Janell Katharyn Holt, age 79, Sartell, MN passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Atonement Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Janell was born June 20, 1938 in Veblen, SD to Marie and Marvin Medhaug. She married Marcus N. Holt on October 18, 1958 at Bergen Lutheran Church in Geneseo, ND.
After raising her three children and many foster children, she attended St. Cloud Technical College to become an LPN. Janell worked as a nurse at the St. Cloud Hospital for over 10 years. When she left the hospital, she continued her career with St. Cloud Medical Group before retiring in 2000. She was a very active member of Atonement Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, participated in quilting, played hand bells, and many other activities.
Survivors include son, Steven (Bonnie) Holt of Little Falls, MN; daughters, Pauline Miller of Sartell, MN; and Kris (Paul) Barnett of Highland Village, TX; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Marie Medhaug, husband Marcus Holt on December 16, 2016, brother Galen Medhaug, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Judith Holt, brother-in-law Virgil Holt, and nephew, Brad Holt.
