    Loretta Virginia (Rupp) Olson, age 94, Sauk Rapids, MN. died peacefully Friday, June 30, 2017 at Good Shepherd Senior Community, Sauk Rapids, MN.
    Funeral services will be Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 325 11th Street N., Sauk Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Saturday. Burial will be in Benton County Cemetery, Sauk Rapids, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St Cloud, MN.
    Loretta was born on November 17, 1922 in Sauk Rapids, MN, to Jacob and Amalia (Hubin) Rupp. Loretta joined & did work for the National Youth Administration for about two years. On January 31, 1942 Loretta was united in marriage to Donald Milton Olson in St Cloud, MN. Loretta was an excellent mother who worked full time caring for her five children. She also worked as a lead inspector of memory frames at Fabri-Tek Inc. for 3 years in the mid 1960’s. She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, bowling, and tending her beautiful flower gardens. She was an excellent athlete and use to play baseball, catching for her brother Norman and later her son. Loretta’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
    Survivors include son, Donald (Germaine “Geri”) Olson of Andover, MN; daughters, Carol (George) Varner of Sauk Rapids, MN; Judie Bukovich of Sartell, MN; Nancy (Daniel) Christman of Foley, MN; son-in-law, David Carlson of Ogden, IA; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, daughter Debbie Carlson, granddaughter, Lynda Jensen, sons-in-law, Allen Schreifels and Eli Bukovich, brothers Alvin, Helmer, Ernie, Roy and Norman, and sisters Alma, Hilda, Edna, Amy, Ethel and Gladys.
    The family would like to thank the care givers at Good Shepherd and St. Croix Hospice, for the excellent care they provided Loretta.
