Shirley Lorraine Huntley, age 81, Foley, MN, formerly of St. Cloud, MN, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Foley Nursing Center, Foley, MN.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Shirley was born August 5, 1935 in Iowa City, IA to Elmer and Sylvia (Kubicek) Nelson. On January 9, 1954 Shirley was united in marriage to Leslie “Dick” R. Huntley in Iowa City, IA. She was a great seamstress for her children, enjoyed folk art painting and loved to decorate. Family was a very important part of Shirley’s life. She was also known for her extreme love of chocolate and ice cream.
Survivors include daughters, Beth Quast of Winston Salem, NC; Marti (Allen) Shallbetter of Harlingen, TX; Terri (Dave) Lee of Zimmerman, MN; Jacki Kealy of Champlin, MN; Merri (Jon) Bergerson of Anoka, MN; son, Scott (Beth) Huntley of Green Bay, WI; sister, Sandy Hoste of Moline, IL; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leslie on March 18, 2017, sisters Dorothy Kinsey and Betty Howard, and brother Donnie Nelson.
