    Marie L. (Tritabaugh) Rutherford, 98
    St. Cloud
    May 13, 1918 - April 11, 2017

Marie Lillian Tritabaugh Rutherford, age 98, St. Cloud, MN, formerly of Fairhaven, MN, and Atlanta, GA, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Benedict Court, where she has resided since 2012.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Sartell, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Fairhaven, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Marie was born May 13, 1918 in Rockford, MN, to Jacob and Ruth (Schoeppler) Tritabaugh. They moved to Lester Prairie, MN, and then to Fairhaven in 1922. Marie graduated from Kimball High School in 1935. For several years, she was a caregiver in Annandale, MN, for Zeb and Marie Eaton. The Eatons remained prominent in Marie’s life, as she later also cared for extended family members and went on to marry their grandson, Robert (Bob) Eaton Rutherford on March 18, 1967 in South Haven, MN. At that time, she also became a stepmother to Robert (Rob) S. Rutherford.
Marie received her beautician training in Orlando, Florida, and was employed as a hairdresser for many years in Chicago, and then later at Wesley Woods Care Center in Atlanta. Bob was employed at Georgia Power Company, and after his death, Marie then went to work in the public relations department at Georgia Power, retiring in 1991.
In Atlanta, she was an active member of Oak Grove Methodist Church, where she gave generously of her time and talents, and made life-long friends. She moved to Waite Park in 2000, and has been a member of First United Methodist Church. Faith, Family, and Friends were always most important in her life, and since her move to the St. Cloud area, her circle of friends has greatly expanded.
Marie is survived by her son, Rob Rutherford and his wife, Martita, of Scottdale, GA; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Raphael Rutherford of Scottdale; sister, Roberta Hinz of Waite Park, MN; and brother-in-law, Alfred Hentges of St. Michael, MN. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob on July 29, 1981; her siblings and spouses: Adeline and Lester Filbert, Hilburn and Evelyn Tritabaugh, Gilbert and Lois Tritabaugh, and sister, Jeanette Hentges; brother-in-law, Bernard Hinz; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice and Byron Logan; niece, Judy Tritabaugh.
Thank you to all of the staff at Benedict Court for the wonderful care and your kindness. You, too, were part of her extended family.
