    ALICE M. (WOLLEAT) SEFKOW, 98
    Sauk Rapids
    June 29, 1918 - December 27, 2016

Mom, you’ve waited a long time, but on December 27, 2016, Jesus finally called your name. What a wonderful day! You always loved the Bible verse “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua 1:9, and now you see “He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23. Your last wish while on this earth was that your grandchildren and their families would come to know and follow the Lord. It was your faith in God and your concern for others that we will remember you for. Not to mention your smile and quick sense of humor!
One of Alice’s dreams was to graduate from high school. Grandson, Mike, helped her enroll and she drove herself to school faithfully for two years. In 2004, at the age of 86, Alice graduated from high school. She continued on as a tutor to other students.
Many years of volunteering gave meaning to Alice’s life. She loved helping others and received many awards for her volunteer service, including being named MSHA Volunteer of the Year in 2001. As a resident of Good Shepherd Apartments, she served on the resident council of the Board of Directors for many years.
Alice was born in Cedar Rapids, IA to Arthur and Alta (Farr) Linkenback, one of nine Linkenback siblings. She married William “Bill” A. Wolleat in 1937 in Cedar Rapids, IA. They moved to Sauk Rapids, MN in 1963 and were married for 43 years until his death on July 31, 1980. Alice later married Earl W. Sefkow in St. Cloud, MN. He died in 1992. Alice was a member of Calvary Community Church. She dearly loved her church family.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (William) Wallace of Aitkin, MN; 5 grandchildren, Mike, Kim, Joan, Deb and Jackie; 10 great grandchildren, Danielle, Ashley, Chandra, Mike, Brian, Nathan, Steve, Charles, Rachel and Dylan; and 7 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, William Wolleat and Earl Sefkow, daughter, Janet Reutter in 1991, granddaughter, Sandra Warzecha in 2016, and 8 siblings.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Community Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Memorials are preferred to Calvary Community Church, St. Cloud MN.
