     Delmar John Wittenhagen, age 84, of St. Cloud, MN died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at St. Cloud Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
     A service celebrating the life of Delmar will be on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 3:15 PM at Wapicada Golf Club, Sauk Rapids, MN. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:15 PM at the golf club on Sunday. Burial in Grace Cemetery, Rockham, SD. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Delmar was born May 3, 1932 in Epiphany, SD to parents, William “Bill” Wittenhagen and Kathryn (Scheuren) Wittenhagen. In 1943 the family moved to Carthage, SD. Delmar graduated from Carthage High School in 1950. Later he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA; Hawaii and Midway Island. After 4 years in the Navy he returned to South Dakota and enrolled at Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD. With a business degree he began a 35 years career at Nash Finch Co. beginning in Cedar Rapids, IA in 1960.
     He married Joyce Michels on on July 4, 1958 in Redfield, SD.
     Survivors include his wife, Joyce Wittenhagen of St. Cloud, MN; daughters, Natalie Jo (Steve) Shaffer of Buffalo, NY; Stacey Ann Wade of Eagan, MN; 3 grandchildren, Michel Twining of Chaska, MN; Eli and Meredith Wade of Eagan, MN; a brother, James Wittenhagen and a sister, Della Banks continue to live in South Dakota as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and family members.
     Preceded in death are Delmar’s parents, sister, Lila Albertson of CA, 2 grandchildren, Bridgette Elizabeth Twining and Abigail Marie Wade, and brothers-in-law, Roger Michels and Clell Banks.
     Memorials can be directed to the Woodshop at Whitney Senior Center, Paramount Center for the Arts or Pheasants Forever.
