    December 13, 1926 - April 24, 2005
    
     Herbert W. Adams, age 78, of 1246 Breckenridge Ave., St. Cloud, MN passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2005 at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family as he went to be with his Lord after a courageous battle with cancer.
     Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 10:30 AM at First Assembly of God Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev Craig Moore will officiate. Also participating will be Pastor Emil Williams and Hospice Chaplain Pastor Pamela Nicle. A gathering and celebration of Herb’s life for family and friends will be Monday, April 25, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church with a time of sharing memories at 6 p.m. Vistiation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN with full military honors. Arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Matt and Steve Adams, Joey and Tim Chellin, Ben Kotrba, nephews, Mike and Bob Sturm.
     Herbert Walter Adams was born on the family farm in Rice, MN on December 13, 1926 to Walter and Christine (Walser) Adams. He attended country school and graduated from Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII from 1944-1946. He was at sea on the USS Siboney. He has many stories from his Navy days on the ship. He then worked on the Great Lakes for a time. He attended Dunwoody Institute in the mechanics program. His skill for working on cars is well known. He moved to Billings, MT and worked in an Auto Parts Store. He married Delores Peterson on August, 19, 1954 at First Assembly of God Church in Billings, MT. They then moved to California and attended Bethany Bible College. In 1961 they moved to St. Cloud and Herb worked at DCI for 35 years in Holdingford and St. Cloud before retiring in 1996.
     Herb’s greatest treasure was his wife, his 3 biological children and 2 adopted Korean deaf children, his grandchildren and siblings. Much of his time was spent at his hunting land near Randall where he built a small cabin and enjoyed the outdoors, cutting wood, feeding his birds and wildlife. He enjoyed hunting, planting trees, gardening and many hours sitting by his fireplace.
     Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Delores of St. Cloud, MN; children, Jon (Kati) Adams of Little Falls, MN; Sherelyn (Dan) Chellin of Andover, MN; Ron Adams of Andover, MN; Lenea (Randy) Benintende of Anoka, MN; Kevin Adams (Maggie Hoppe) of Sartell, MN; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sisters, Donna Holt of St. Cloud, MN, Emma Jean Stich of Waite Park, MN, Wilma Sturm of St. Cloud, MN, Arlene (Jerome) Midas of St. Cloud, MN; brother, David (Marilyn) Adams of Mesa, AZ; cousin, Bobby Walser; many nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; Aunt Eda; Uncle Godfried; 3 brothers-in-law, Ed Holt, Dick Sturm, Eugene Stich; nieces Cindy Sturm and Sandy Hamms.
