Donovan “Don” Lyonel Lundgren, age 84, Sartell, MN, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Country Manor Health Care Center, Sartell, MN.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
Don was born September 6, 1931 in Canby, MN to Edwin J. and Sylvia E. (Cech) Lundgren. He was a graduate of Appleton High School and the University of Minnesota. On June 23, 1957 Don was united in marriage to Betty J. Sjolander in Dawson, MN. They lived in Minnesota and Wisconsin while Don worked for General Foods and Ortho Chemical Company. They moved to St. Cloud in 1966 where he began a 40 plus year career in real estate sales. In 1999 Don received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the St. Cloud Area Association of Realtors, and was a two time recipient of the Minnesota Association of Realtors “Realtor of the Year”. He also served as President of the St. Cloud Area Association of Realtors for three separate terms. Don was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving as President and on many boards and committees. He was also a member of St. Cloud Rotary Club for over 25 years and a Past-President of the St. Cloud Technical College Foundation. Don also proudly served on the St. Cloud Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity.
When Don wasn't working he enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and tinkering on small projects at his rental properties and at the family lake home on Fish Trap Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lundgren of Sartell, MN; sons, Bruce (Theresa) Lundgren of Sartell, MN; John (Stephanie) Lundgren of St. Cloud, MN; and Daniel (Becky) Lundgren of Sartell, MN; sister, Vivian (Mark) Knoblach of St. Cloud, MN; and eight grandchildren, Peter, Sara, Colin, Samantha, Connor, Emma, Max, and Jakob.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Richard S. Lundgren.
