     Burdette “Bud” John Wenz, age 84, Sartell, MN, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN at a later date.
     Bud was born June 6, 1931 in Sioux City, IA to George and Bernice (Ehrle) Wenz. He graduated with the class of 1949 from St. Cloud Tech High School. He served in the United States Army in Korea from 1952 to 1954 working as a decoder. Bud married Carol Starke on May 28, 1955. They later divorced. On June 4, 1960 Bud married Beverly Madsen at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN.
     Bud was employed as a carpenter by Ed Meyer Construction for many years before starting his own company, ‘Bud Wenz Construction’. He built many homes in the Sartell and surrounding area. Bud also enjoyed his shop where he spent lots of time making furniture. His family and friends will treasure everything he made for them. His grandsons have many memories of sleep overs, State Fair, and playing with trains and Legos. Bud’s three German Shepherds, ‘Rebel’, ‘EJ’ and ‘KC’, were a major part of his life. If you knew Bud you knew who ‘KC’ was.
     Survivors include his wife, Bev Wenz of Sartell; son,, Tim (Deb) Wenz of Sartell; daughter, Cindy (Mitch) Mohs of Clear Lake; three grandsons, Noah Wenz of Minneapolis; Zach (Niki) Wenz of Hudson, WI; Mitchell Mohs of Clear Lake; and three great grandchildren, Carter, Chase and Gemma Wenz; sisters-in-law, Eileen Wenz of Sartell and Josiane Wenz of Boise, ID; and a special part of the family for the last 28 years, Rob Kirchner of Foley.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kelly on April 25, 2004, and brothers Bob and Bill Wenz.
