November 17, 1961 - January 2, 2016
Donald Allen Anderson, 54, of Sauk Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 2, 2016.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Salem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be a half hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Stockholm Township Cemetery, Cokato, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Donald was born in Hutchinson, MN on November 17, 1961. He graduated from Dassel-Cokato High School and went on to attend Vo-Tech in Willmar and White Bear Lake receiving a degree in Janitorial Science. Donald moved to St. Cloud in 1987 to be closer to family. Family and his God were always the most important things in Don's life. He went on to work at Cub Foods, Good Will, The Red Carpet, and Catholic Charities Hope Community Support Program in St. Cloud.
Don had some true passions in his life. He was an avid stamp collector and also dabbled in beer can and post card collecting. He rode bicycle with a fervor, logging thousands of miles and participating in numerous Bike Tours. He worked meticulously on his wooden models. Cooking and eating gave him pure joy. An animal lover, he had a particular fondness for cats. He had an adventurous heart. He went to Mexico while still a teen. He traveled to Sweden to explore his heritage. He skied the Vasolopet.
Don will be dearly missed by his mother, Audrey Anderson, brother, Dale Anderson and his wife Ginny and sons Erik and Eli, sister, Nancy Bouhajja and husband Mourad and daughter Saida, and sister, Su Sebghati and husband Hamid.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Paul Anderson.
God never created a gentler soul than Donald's. His spirit will live on in the memories of all who knew him.
