     Kenneth “Ken” James Perrington, age 75, Cold Spring, MN, died peacefully Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Lakeview Ranch, Darwin, MN.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Parish, 14241 Fruit Farm Road, St. Joseph, MN (Collegeville Township). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the parish on Tuesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Ken was born November 28, 1938 in Duluth, MN. He grew up in Grand Rapids, MN where he graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1957. Ken attended Itasca Community College and the University of Minnesota, receiving degrees in Chemistry in 1963 and an MBA from Carlson School of Management in 1985. He was employed by 3M for 35 years as a research chemist and manager in the areas of magnetic products and carbonless paper. Ken held many U.S. Patents, most notably in the areas of VHF and audio tape technology. On January 7, 1995, Ken was united in marriage to Linda Irelan Pilling at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Oakdale, MN. Ken was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish.
     Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Linda (Pilling) Perrington of Cold Spring, MN; sons, Daniel Perrington of Lino Lakes; Dale Perrington of Minneapolis, MN; and step daughter, Wendy (Lloyd) Hudson of Maple Grove, MN.
     He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Perrington and by his adoptive parents, Kenneth and Grace Perrington of Grand Rapids, MN.
     The family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful care Ken received at Lakeview Ranch Specialized Dementia Care in Darwin, MN.
     Memorials are preferred to Alcuin Library at St. John’s University or St. John the Baptist Parish.
