     George Hamilton Record, age 95, St. Cloud, MN, died Monday, August 25, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud MN.
     George was born March 12, 1919 in Minneapolis to Dr. George H. and Alma (Lieberenz) Record. He graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota for two years, majoring in accounting. Later he worked in the payroll department of the Soo Line Railroad for 18 years.
     In 1942 George was drafted into the United States Army serving until 1946. During that time he met Marjorie Searles in Heidelberg, Germany. They were married on July 6, 1946 in Watertown, NY. They lived in Minneapolis until 1955 when they moved to St. Cloud, MN where they owned and operated the Log Cabin Court Motel until 1978. George also worked in the Dietetic Department at the Veterans Administration Medical Center as head waiter, retiring in 1979. After selling the motel in 1978, they moved to Angushire Apartments in Waite Park where they lived until Marjorie’s death on November 4, 1994. On November 18, 2005, George was united in marriage to Cordelia “Boots” Inselman at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Boots died on August 3, 2014.
     George was a life member of St. Cloud VFW Post #428, a member of Waite Park American Legion Post #428, Moose Lodge #1400, and Golden K Kiwanis. He was a former member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
     Survivors include step children, Mary Ann (Leroy) Morin of Brooklyn Park, MN; Richard Inselman of Deer River, MN; Douglas Inselman of St. Joseph, MN; Margaret (Patrick) Daniel of St. Cloud, MN; Susan (Patrick) Bettenberg of Sartell, MN; six step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Marjorie and Cordelia, and brother, John R. Record.
     Memorials are preferred.
