     Caroline “Carol” Ann Hartmann, age 94, St. Cloud, MN left this earth, with hope of heaven on Friday, June 27, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Carol was born July 26, 1919 in Sherburne County, MN to Mathias and Caroline (Gehling) Neumann. She married Lester L. Hartmann on June 22, 1940 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minden Township, Benton County, MN. Carol was employed by St. Cloud Technical High School for 14 1/2 years in the lunch line. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Augustine Choir and Christian Mothers. Carol loved gardening, canning and sewing for the family. A lover of all kinds of fancy, Carol enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and tatting. She like fishing, especially with her husband, Lester. Carol also loved playing 500, bowling, trips to the casino and of course dinner at Brigettes.
     A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Carol most of all LOVED her grandkids.
     Survivors include daughters, Jean Aleckson of St. Cloud, MN; Sharen Whiterabbit of Coon Rapids, MN; 5 grandchildren, Jay (Barb) Aleckson, Jeff Aleckson, Jennifer Aleckson, Jo (Gary) Scharmel, and Chad (Nicole) Whiterabbit; 19 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester on October 14, 2006, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
     The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Care Free Living, St. Cloud Hospital and St. Benedict’s Senior Community for the exceptional love and care they provided mom.
    Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
