     Lavina A. Hoemke, age 84, St. Cloud, MN, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital with her family by her side.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. St. Cloud VFW Post #428 Auxiliary prayer service will be at 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
    Entombment will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
     Lavina was born June 11, 1929 in St. Augusta Township, Stearns County, MN to George and Ida (Rotsolk) Pramann. She married Harold J. Hoemke on August 22, 1959 at Grace United Methodist Church, St. Cloud, MN. Lavina taught school for over 38 years, first in two one room schools in Stearns County and then schools in Morris, Brainerd and St. Cloud. She served as an election judge for 8 years. Lavina also was involved in a tour and travel business as a sales representative and driver for 10 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, life member of St. Cloud VFW Post #428 Auxiliary, Minnesota Education Association, National Education Association and Retired Educators Association Minnesota.
     Lavina is survived by her daughter, Jayne Hoemke of St. Cloud, MN; brother-in-law, Lyle Heaton of Clearwater, MN; many nieces and nephews; and grand puppies, Casey and Mikko.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold on October 14, 2000, three sisters, Janet Pramann, Marlys Heaton and Luilla Pelzer, nephew, Kevin Heaton and an infant niece.
     Pallbearers will be David Pelzer, Keith Heaton, Jeff Heaton, Dean Pelzer, Matt Pelzer and Jeff Blackmore.
     Honorary pallbearer will be Lyle Heaton.
