Vivian E. Pearcy, age 94, Sauk Rapids, MN, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Benson Funeral Home on Thursday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Vivian was born March 5, 1919 in Lyon County, MN to Howard and Hattie (Moore) Atwood. She was united in marriage to William J. Pearcy on September 24, 1941 in Lyon County, Marshall, MN. They made their home in Waite Park for 26 years. Vivian was employed part-time for the St. Cloud School District. She was a member of VFW Post #4847 Auxiliary and volunteered with 4-H and Girl Scouts. Vivian loved to fish and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Vernon Pearcy of Long Prairie, MN; daughters, Deloris Steele of Sauk Rapids, MN; Cheryl (Don) Gross of Lincoln, NE; brother, Everett Atwood of LaPorte IN; sisters, Vera Mae Matthewson or Gaylord, MN; Joan Stratley of Emily, MN; Janice Atwood of Sand Point ID; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, 2010, sisters, Aileen Fletcher, Audrey Fletcher, Ernestine Frahm, and brother, Dale Atwood. |
