     James Wesley Boettcher, age 76, Becker, MN, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church, Becker, MN. Fr. Gene Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, July 19, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 5:30 PM and parish prayers will be at 7:00 PM Friday at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     James was born July 23, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN to Wesley and Ethel (Hensler) Boettcher. He married Janet Mae Kolbinger on June 25, 1955 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Becker, MN. James was a graduate of Becker High School and St. Cloud Technical College. He was employed as Public Works Director for the City of Becker. James was also a member of the Becker Fire Department for 31 years, serving as Chief for 19 years. He was a member of Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. James was a Boy Scout achieving the rank of Life Scout and later served as a Boy Scout Leader. He was the first member elected to the Becker High School Hall of Fame. James enjoyed hunting, woodworking and playing cards, however his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
     Survivors include his wife, Janet Boettcher of Becker, MN; sons, Jim (Peggy) Boettcher of St. Joseph, MN; Mike (Cindy) Boettcher of Moorhead, MN; daughter, Debbie (Mark) Dittmar of Becker, MN; 11 grandchildren, Jim Dittmar, Zach Boettcher, Matt Boettcher, Chase Boettcher, Tito Hansen, Dom Hansen, Lydia Dittmar, Megan Boettcher, Emily Boettcher, Spring Hansen, and Miranda Boettcher; and 10 great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Sora, Sam, Savana, Akira, Hunter, Emma, Curtis, Jaden, and Dacey-Swae.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Boettcher, and sister, Madonna Boettcher.
     Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.
     Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
