     Arvid E. Molin, age 99, St. Cloud, MN, formerly of Montevideo, MN died Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Center, St. Cloud, MN.
     Funeral services will be Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Montevideo, MN.
     Arvid was born March 15, 1914 in Melrose, MN to Carl A. and Bertha M. (Schwanke) Molin. He graduated in 1931 from St. Cloud Technical High School, where he played trombone in the band and participated in track and field. On November 17, 1937 he was united in marriage to Helen Marcella Anderson at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. From 1937 until 1955 they lived in Milaca, MN where they owned a creamery, dairy bar and hatchery. In 1955 they moved to Montevideo, where they owned and operated the Ben Franklin Store. In 1997 they moved to St. Benedict Village in St. Cloud. Arvid and Helen have been members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo since 1955. Arvid was on the Board of Directors at Northwestern State Bank 17 years and a longtime member of the noon Lion’s Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the Montevideo Country Club where he shot his age or better over 100 times. Arvid golfed until age 92. He also loved hunting and fishing. They had lots of family fun at their cabin on Lake Minnewaska and later on at their cabin on Big Birch Lake in Melrose. Arvid was a kind, easy-going gentleman, who was loved and will be missed by family and friends.
     Survivors include a son, Dr. Thomas (Kaye) Molin of Park Rapids, MN (formerly of Willmar, MN); three granddaughters, Kari (John Myers) Molin of Maple Grove, MN; Tracey (Paul) Douglas of Prior Lake, MN; and Dr. Kellie (Will) Molin-Roseberg of Savage, MN; and four great grandchildren, Owen and Leah McShane and Tanner and Chase Douglas.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen on October 15, 2010, son, Steve in 1976, and sister, Ione Anderson.
     Pallbearers will be granddaughters, grandsons-in-law, and great grandchildren.
