     James Eugene Folsom, age 93, Sauk Rapids, MN, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.
     Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     James was born July 17, 1919 in Postville, IA to Melbert and Bertha (David) Folsom. He married Vesta A. Schuldt on October 5, 1940 in St. Cloud, MN. James served in United States Army as an engineer during World War II and served in the Army National Guard for three years. He worked with the Great Northern Railroad for 39 years. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Eastside VFW Post #4847, St. Cloud, MN. James loved woodworking and enjoyed tending to his flowers.
     Survivors include his daughters, Karen (George) Kanda of Sun Lakes, AZ; Jean Herold of Coon Rapids, MN; Judy (Al) Schneider of Brooklyn Park, MN; brother, Kenneth (Velda) Folsom of Pharr, TX; sisters, Delores (Everett) Rasmussen of St. Cloud, MN; six grandchildren, Stephen Kanda, Peter Kanda, Paul Herold, Melissa Kalahar, Dana Degenhardt and Heidi Vogel; and ten great grandchildren, Will Kanda, Madeline Kanda, Emily Herold, Callie Herold, Adam Kalahar, Caleb Kalahar, Tanner Vogel, Tyler Vogel, Payton Vogel and Neaven Degenhardt.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vesta on November 27, 1996, brothers, Robert and Bernard Folsom, and sister, Audrey Palisch.
     Memorials are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home or Holy Cross Lutheran Church
