Dorothy LaVerne Stubbs, age 82, Becker, MN, formerly of Waite Park and Long Prairie, MN, left to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
Memorial services will be Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Living Waters Lutheran Church, Sauk Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Long Prairie, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Dorothy was born November 25, 1930 in Isanti, MN to Nels and Ida (Carlson) Erickson. She married Gordon E. Stubbs on April 29, 1950 in Cambridge, MN. They moved to Royalton, MN, where she was a wife, mother, and housekeeper. In 1967 they moved to Long Prairie, MN. Dorothy worked for a time at Lantz Lens. In addition to working and raising a family, Dorothy loved to help at her church. She enjoyed camping, traveling to see family and friends, and she loved to dance. Dorothy had a love for her family and the Lord that was beyond any measure.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Jim) Fry of Oaskis, MN; sons, Norman (Cindy) Stubbs of Walker, MN; Rodney (Cathy) Stubbs of Becker, MN; and Brian (Heather) Stubbs of Brainerd, MN; eight grandchildren, Paula (Jeff) Cloose of Barrett, MN; Jason (Keael) Fry of Norfolk, VA; Derek (Sofia) Fry of Oceanside, CA; Emily (Nate) Long of St. Cloud, MN; Molly (Reggie) Malikowski of St. Cloud, MN; Abbey Christiansen of St. Cloud, MN; and Eric Christiansen of St. Cloud, MN; Grant (Sara) Nielsen of Bemidji, MN; fourteen great grandchildren; brothers, DeWayne Erickson and Dale (Joann) Erickson; sister Delores (Leroy) Erickson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gordon on March 6, 1998, sisters, Selma Twingstrom, brothers, Elmer, Maurice and Gordon Erickson, and an infant brother, Wesley Erickson.
