Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 10:30 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud for Thelma Tessari who died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home in
St. Cloud, Friday, November 26, 2004 from 4 to 7 PM and one hour before services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery.
Thelma was born April 30, 1912 in Albert Lea, MN to William and Emma (Severson) Nelson. She graduated from high school and completed Business College in Albert Lea. On June 8, 1939, Thelma married John J. Tessari at Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. She has been a resident of St. Cloud and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church since 1945. For many years, Thelma and her sister, Harriet, operated a business designing and selling distinctive hand made linens, and dolls.
Thelma is survived by her children, Lynn (James) Metcalf of St. Cloud, MN; Terry (Scooter) Tessari of Portage, MI; five grandchildren, Craig (Crystal) Metcalf of St. Cloud, MN; Christine (Chad Schmitz) Metcalf of St. Cloud, MN; Michelle (Gordy) Meyer of Sartell, MN; Nikki Tessari of Portage, MI and Christopher Tessari of Portage, MI; and five great grandchildren, Ali, Zoe, Grant, and Trent Meyer and Hayden Schmitz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, on August 29, 1998 and her siblings, Harriet, Leonard and Ellsworth Nelson.
