Ken was born January 17, 1932 in Sioux City, IA to Ervin “Jerry” and Joy (Titus) Leite. In his younger years Ken loved to hunt and fish in the Black Hills where he farmed and built houses with his father. After attending bible college for two years he decided upon a different career and joined the Army Airborne and became a paratrooper. After his time in the army, Ken joined the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sturgis, SD in the supply division. On August 24, 1958 Kenneth was united in marriage to Catherine Schomer in Sturgis, SD. The family made several moves living in five states. Ken retired from the St. Cloud Veterans Administration Medical Center as Chief of Supply after working for the United States Veterans Administration for 38 years. He was a member of Calvary Community Church.
Ken’s favorite pastimes were golf and word puzzles. He loved auctions and collected western art and toys. He was an avid sports fan and was known for his lawn. Ken’s wonderful sense of humor and his honesty will be greatly missed, but will be carried forward by his family.
