     James Albert Tattle, age 89, St. Cloud, MN, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital from complications of diabetes and heart disease.
     A memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     James was born July 18, 1923 in Devils Lake, ND to Charles and Mary (Pust) Tattle. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1942. James served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945 on the destroyer USS Lea. He married Donna Lorraine Hovelsrud on January 11, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston, MN. The couple lived in Thief River Falls before moving to St. Cloud where James found employment at Pflepsens Refrigeration. In 1962 he started his own company Thermo Craft Refrigeration and Air Conditioning which he operated until 1974 when he sold the business. James then taught Heating and Air at St. Cloud Technical College for 8 years when he retired. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and a life member of Pan Towners Automobile Club.
     Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Donna Lorraine Tattle of St. Cloud, MN; four daughters, Nancy (Gib) Swanson of Longmont, CO; Linda Allard of Glenwood Springs, CO; Karen Dealwis of Laguna Niguel, CA; and Kim (Joe) Zamudio of Boulder, CO; brother, Stanley Tattle of Polson, MT; four grandchildren, Neelia (Jayson) Heydt, James Goonewardena, Kelly Kitchen and R. J. Fogal; and one great grandson, Bradley.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
