     Walter “Walt” G. Christen, age 75, Waite Park, MN, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, February 18, 2013.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, St. Cloud. Visitation will be Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
     He was the loving husband of his wife, Janet for 54 years, caring father of their 4 daughters and proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. We all miss him and will smile whenever we think of him. Walt taught mathematics in the St. Cloud School District for 34 years. He retired in 1993. Walt enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with family.
     Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughters, Terri (Mark) Morin, Nancy (George) Schnepf, Patti (Tim) Koepke, Laura (Perry) Vandal; grandchildren, Vickie (Jarrod Dawley) Corson, Michael (Deidra) Corson, Josh & Matt Hary, Justin & Breanna Koepke, Chase & Trevor Vandal, Carly & Alec Schnepf; great grandchildren, Madison Dawley and Tyler Steele; sister, Beatrice Bassi; and brother, Bob (Jackie) Christen.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Ella Christen; sister, Della Hendrickson; and brothers-in-law, Al Bassi and Jerry Hendrickson.
