Jerome “Jerry” Henry Prom, age 64, St. Cloud, MN, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Jerry was born April 8, 1948 in St. Cloud, MN to Leo and Frances (Gapinski) Prom. He served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1968. Jerry married Dona Mae Illies on April 17, 1971 in Sauk Rapids, MN. They later divorced. Jerry was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad and then for Champion Paper Mill of Sartell, retiring in 1998. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed biking around town, and loved telling jokes. Jerry will be remembered as a loving and caring father.
Survivors include his children, Brian (Chau) Prom of St. Cloud, MN; Michael Prom of St. Cloud, MN; and Carrie Prom of St. Cloud, MN; brothers and sisters, Harry Prom of Sauk Rapids, MN; Paul (Michelle) Prom of Sauk Rapids, MN; Cecelia (Norbert) Chapp of Elk River, MN; Jeanne (Russell) Fuchs of Sauk Rapids, MN; Mary Ann (Lloyd) Traut of Sartell, MN; Betty Jane (Joe) Larkey of Sauk Rapids, MN; Judy (Pat) Schroepfer of Sleepy Eye, MN; and one grandson, Jonathan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
