     John Thomas Biggins, age 86, of Waite Park, died peacefully, with his loving family present, on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud. Visitation one hour prior to the service at funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
     John was born February 17, 1926 in St. Clair, MN to Roy and Marie (Foley) Biggins. He married Cecilia C. Hager on December 23, 1950 in Seattle, WA. John served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart in 1951 and several medals for his service. John was employed by the United States Post Office for 32 years retiring in 1987. He loved spending time with his family, and at his lake cabin, which he built himself, near Pine River.
     Survivors include his wife, Cecilia; sons and daughters, Lisa (Lynn) Scheil of Rice; Holly Biggins of Sauk Rapids; Mark Biggins of Rochester; Rebecca Biggins of Brainerd; Tim (Elaine) Biggins of Hackensack; Julie (Tim) Mages of St. Cloud; Chris (Jeanne) Biggins of Coon Rapids; brother, Patrick Biggins of Alamogordo, NM; sister, Geraldine Hrdlicka of Waterville; eleven grandchildren, Ryan, Brent (Joy) and Nathan Scheil; Sam Trivette, Ashley (Dean) Pelham, Aubree, Dan and Reed Mages; and Katie, Adam and Ellie Biggins; and three great grandchildren, Mercedes and Leyton Scheil, and Maddison Wethington-Mages.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters, Kathleen Splett and Sharon Biggins, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anne and Clifford Hager.
