     Harris Lee Helmer, age 77, Clear Lake, MN died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at his home.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Grace United Methodist Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
     Lee was born July 21, 1935 in Olivia, MN to Edward F. and Clara C. (Hosek) Helmer. He married Della Mae Tramm on August 14, 1967 in Staples, MN. Lee served in the United States Air Force from 1952 - 1956. He worked in construction and owned his own business. Lee then was employed by the Minnesota Correctional Facility, St. Cloud, MN from 1973 until his retirement in 2001. Lee loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
     Survivors include his wife, Della Mae Helmer of Clear Lake, MN; daughter, Heather Helmer (fiancé Terry Storey, Rice, MN) of Clear Lake, MN; son, Justin (Karla Olson) Helmer of Milaca, MN; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Elizabeth Haws; two brothers, Eugene (Evelyn) Helmer of Dassel, MN; Robert (Karen) Helmer of Olivia, MN and brother-in-law, Don Decker of Olivia, MN.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Tom and Duane Helmer and two sisters, Eva June Decker and Patricia (Berdine) Davis.
     Memorials are preferred to ARISE.
